STAINED-GLASS WINDOWS

The first set of stained-glass windows (found directly underneath the vault):

In the apse: Jesus, in the centre, surrounded by patriarchs and prophets of the Old Testament who announced His coming.
In the transepts: the text of the Beatitudes.
In the central nave: witnesses who marked the history of the Church.

The second series of stained-glass windows (one level down - the "twin" stained-glass windows):

In the ambulatory: the apostles of Jesus surround the sanctuary.
In the central nave: we see the history of devotion to Saint Anne, as it started in Quebec and Canada, and spread to the rest of North America.

At the ends of the transepts, two large stained-glass windows represent two great Shrines dedicated to Saint Anne: SAINTE-ANNE-D’AURAY (France) in the northern transept and the CHURCH OF SAINT ANNE (Jerusalem) in the southern transept.

The great rose window is found on the Basilica’s façade: in the centre, we see Saint Anne, the Virgin Mary, and the Child Jesus. The Litany of the Virgin Mary is represented in the windows surrounding them.
