The Memorial Chapel was built on the site of the south transept of the third church (1676 - 1876). Many of the materials from this church were used to construct the Memorial Chapel: stones, the bell tower, and the entire interior decor, such as the vault, the celebrant's chair (decorated with the magnificent woodwork of sculptor François Baillargé), the pews, the cornice, and the columns. Many of these precious objects that were originally placed in this chapel are now found in the Museum of Saint Anne, where they are better protected from rough weather conditions. Even though the original statues and paintings have been replaced by copies, the Memorial Chapel still remains to this day a strong witness of 200 years of history, of 200 years of marvels performed by Good Saint Anne.
